Bioinformatics at the CCMB serves as one of the Distributed Information Centers (DIC) established by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT). The focus is in the areas of gene prediction, protein structure function prediction, analysis of nucleic acids/proteins sequences & structures. The other activities include development of software applications and databases assisting users from the CCMB and others in searching and retrieval of information from MEDLINE, EMBL, SWISS-PROT databases, analyzing nucleic acid and protein sequences using Wisconsin package, predicting secondary structures of proteins, molecular simulations and modeling, formatting and submission of sequences to GenBank for deposition and bibliographic searches including those related to patents. |
